I am the eldest son of my parents who are village school teachers. I studied up to pre-degree and was a man of arrogance and pride, never caring for my parents or teachers. My mother begged me to go to church but I refused. All of my friends were without morals and I became a habitual drinker, smoker and adulterer. I used to take money by force from my mother. As a last trial my mother handled my feet and requested me to attend church, but I never cared for her. My father refused to speak to me because of my disobedience.
One day a local pastor began to think about me. My parents were so good and I was so bad. He began talking to me in gentle ways and took me to his home. He taught me from the Bible of the son of Eli. I really wept for my wrong doings and confessed my sins before Jesus and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. I realized I was useless and worthless and began to weep. The pastor offered me to take meals with him and I accepted. After I rested, the pastor took me home and explained to my parents what had happened. I took hold of their feet and confessed to my parents. They thanked the pastor for bringing back their prodigal son. I promised to live as a model Christian.
I married a godly woman. She also encouraged me in God. She sings well for Jesus. After my marriage I prayerfully started my gospel service among hill tribes. I was discouraged and prayed for my future. Now my wife and I are witnessing and winning perishing souls for the Lord Jesus. We have temporarily constructed one prayer shed and are having worship services. Please pray for us.
Every 4 months sponsorship funds are sent to the preachers. With it goes a Missionary Report Form for each one to complete and return to our office. After compilation of statistics they are forwarded by mail or email to the sponsors. Below are past report forms from this preacher. They have been modified to protect the financial data of the sponsor.
I was born in a Christian family. Through their influences I became a half Christian and half pagan - a lost hypocrite who although attended church services every Sunday danced actually to the times of the devil's drumbeat. I became aware of my lostness when a brother preached a message of the subject of sin and God's judgment. The passage that the preacher read was Romans 3:23, 24. I was convicted of my sins and I repented before God and prayed that He would make me a new man. And he did just that. Henceforth I was changed. Then in 1988 the Lord called me into the ministry. I started preaching but I did not know how to preach. My brother George Opiyo taught me a bit of what he called homiletics. I improved. Later I joined a 1 year Bible course in Nairobi and I am now actively involved in church planting apart from pastoring a church.
