†††I am from a warrior caste and live in a village of such people. One day a group of India pastors and laypeople came to my village with guests from overseas. They told us all about Jesus and we sat spellbound in silence. They agreed to return the next night and again I listened to them. Before the end of the week my wife and I put our trust in Jesus and received baptism. My father observed this and cast us out of his home. We became low caste untouchables in his sight and were cut off from family and inheritance.

†††Still I am destitute. We live in a house of bamboo with mud walls and palm branches for a roof. It is the same as the houses of all the families in our village. Our daily subsistence is rice and curries. Our daily activity is to study God's Word and preach in our village or another, each day. In the afternoons we spend time teaching from house to house. Our villages are full of idols and most of our people have not heard of Jesus yet. We have been living by faith and on the offerings of our poor church members. Our hearts desire is to serve the Lord with great strength. Your offering of support will help us to have that strength in our bodies so that we can preach to the people of our area. Thank you for helping us.

What is a sponsorship?

I and my wife were idol worshippers and by castes we were washers of clothes (dhobi). We went one year to attend a Hindu festival and there we sacrificed a cock to the goddess of the water. That day we heard Christians singing and passing out tracts. Their music was so beautiful and the message they gave made me forget my Hindu faith and we both accepted Christ. When we went home and began to witness the elders of the village called me before them and wanted to force me to denounce Jesus but I would not so they took my job away and took also my house and land and then they beat my wife and I and cast us out of the village. For the sake of Christ we lost all we had. We went to live with my father-in-law since my family dismissed me and there we built a prayer shed to pray and preach to those who would listen.
