Here’s an urgent need you can pray about and maybe help with …

Christmas is coming and we want to see just how many Gospel Stockings we can give away this year. And I’m hoping you feel the same way!
|
I think it was four years ago we started doing this and it has been a great evangelistic tool each year, bringing joy and delight to the children who receive them as well as a sense of relief and gratitude to the parents who felt shame and disgrace because they were unable to provide a gift for their child for Christmas.
It’s true that they don’t expect to be able to give their children a gift, and it’s true that the child does not expect to get one - ever; but that doesn’t mean that in their hearts the desire is not there and the regret does not shame them. And that is why we are giving you the opportunity to provide a Gospel Stocking again this year for only $20 to a child who will treasure it more than you can imagine.
Our Gospel Stockings are delivered to the pastors we support and passed out at their discretion to needy families. The stockings (sometimes bags if we run out of stockings or they are not available in a particular country)

contain candy and toys and a New Testament or tracts, that’s why we call them Gospel Stockings. Their intent is not only to delight the eyes but also to fill the soul. Showing the free gift of God provided by His Son, Jesus.
Of course when a sponsor provides one, it goes to his sponsored child, but any extra stockings, or those given by others who do not sponsor a child will go to children who have likely never received a gift in their life, who have no toys to play with and for whom Christmas is just another day in poverty. And so, in these hard economic times, if you have a spare $20, you can change all that. I hope you will.
