I grew up with my sister being cared for by my mother who was a temple prostitute to the goddess Yellamma. We both were the result of her devotion to her goddess and the prostitution she committed as an act of worship. One day she went to a distant location with my sister but came home alone. I learned that she had given my sister to the temple at her young age to satisfy the desires of the male devotees. I felt so alone for the rest of my youth until a pastor shared the Word of God with me and I became a Christian. What love I felt. I began to search for this pastor to learn more and eventually found him at a village church. Immediately I enrolled in the Satyam Baptist Bible College to study for the ministry.
My wife was also raised as the child of a “ritual harlot” but came to Christ after she observed my mother being saved.
Since that time I have started three churches among my people and have three men serving as pastors whom I trained. I have also helped to start two other churches in our region that other men now pastor. I work with the following tribal groups: Marata, Lingyates, Talwar, Metheris, Harijans, Madars, Sunnis, etc. and I speak the languages of the Kannada, Hindi, Marathi and Urdu. From among these peoples I have lead 159 souls to Christ and baptized 92 of them.
My family and I revive income of about $11 a month but have a need of $82. This amount also includes our ministry fund. We live in a hut made with hand-made mud bricks that has three rooms. One of these rooms we use for our prayer service. Our toilet is outside as is our kitchen.
Please pray for us and help if you can. Our needs are few but we have an opportunity to reach many with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Every 4 months sponsorship funds are sent to the preachers. With it goes a Missionary Report Form for each one to complete and return to our office. After compilation of statistics they are forwarded by mail or email to the sponsors. Below are past report forms from this preacher. They have been modified to protect the financial data of the sponsor.
I was born into a church attending family in 1962, but didn't realize my need of salvation until my teen years. I received Christ at a church camp. My Pastor, George Pile, disciple me and challenged me to attend Bible College. I started college in 1938 and graduated in 1991. My wife was also saved as a teenager. We met in Bible College, and were wed in 1994. She is my co-worker, especially amongst the women and children.
