I am a pastor and evangelist in a tribal and backward village that is in the forest. It is very near to my birth village. I stopped my education in my 9th class due to poverty. I had to search for a job but could not get one in those days and so we suffered with hunger. My parents were old so it was my burden to feed them.

I began to work in the fields and while working I used to sing for Jesus to forget the strains of labor and hunger, even though I did not know the meaning of the words of the songs because I was not yet a Christian. Later, after my conversion the pastor advised me to undergo Bible training to know more about Jesus. This I did. The words written in Mark 16:15 made me turn to Jesus and preach the gospel to the nation. So I prayed to God and started my preaching about the Savior. My village and the surrounding villages were backward in all aspects and only a limited number were educated. Christianity was quite new to this place. In the beginning I experienced many persecutions from pagan worshippers. Sometimes my children were mocked because of my preaching. But also some people listened with curiosity. Gradually I was able to gain the love and compassion of the villagers.

With my own money I constructed a prayer shed that is built of thatch and requires regular repairs. To expand the ministry I have trained one man for the service of the Lord and will train others as they step forward. Through my witnessing and preaching I have had 117 souls to pray with me accepting Christ and 80% have been baptized. We live simply just like the people we minister to. Our house is made of bamboo and palm leaves. My wife and I witness each day and teach the members of our church to so as well.

What is a sponsorship?

I was born into a non-Christian family.I was saved in 1996 when I heard the Word of God in a church which I later joined. After salvation, about a year later, I started having a burden for serving God in my heart. The following year I went to Bible School to study Gods Word so that I could serve Him in a stable manner. Before becoming a pastor, I served in various places in the church youth leader and head of evangelism just to name a few areas where I worked. The Spirit of God continued to speak to me about working for Him.Three years after Bible School, God called me to be a minister to the church which I am now serving. Currently I am involved in church planting, discipleship, open air evangelism, tribal evangelism, literature distribution, Bible teaching and Bible translating.I have started one new church and I have trained two men to be pastors. I live in a grass thatched house. Some of my favorite foods include ugali (corn meal mash), beans and vegetables.I purchase all my foods from the market.
